Health and Wellbeing

The health and wellbeing of our children is vitally important.

HAPPI

Our Friday afternoon HAPPI (Health and Positive Personal Insight) sessions are a highlight of the children’s week.  During this time, our pupils have the chance to focus on their sense of wellbeing, personal development and the natural environment.  They are planned around ‘The 5 Ways to Wellbeing’

These sessions incorporate:

Forest School: Set in our beautiful surrounding countryside, this provides children with the opportunity to learn about and take notice of nature and the world around them, problem-solve in a team and create wonderful projects with natural materials. You can find out more about the exciting activities on our 'Forest School' page.

Mindfulness and Creativity: Quiet sessions based around colouring / art techniques that gently teach children how to settle themselves and calm their thinking and take notice of the world around them, critical in today’s busy world. You can read more about these activities on our 'Mindfulness and Creativity' page.

Connect and Keep Active with Yoga: Physical activity and mindfulness are the focus, of this activity. Read more about what this group gets up to on our 'Connect and Keep Active: Yoga' page.

Health Eating

We also believe that knowing about healthy eating is an important part of our children’s learning and wellbeing. Every child receives cookery lessons from our professional chef, working in small groups to learn simple food technology skills and techniques. Chef also teachers them about how to eat healthily and make the right food choices. You can read more about this on our 'Healthy Eating' page.

PE and Sport

All our children work with a qualified sports coach each week on a range of activities including gym, dance and games. They also take part in regular sports festivals which include a gym festival, multi-sport festival and a football tournament.

They also particulate in additional physical activities, such as a tennis morning and an Indian dance workshop. You can read more about these and more on our 'PE and Sport' page.
